Director of Libraries and Instructional Technology, Chicago Public Schools
Kara Thorstenson is the Director of Libraries and Instructional Technology for Chicago Public Schools. She is an avid school leader, educator and librarian with fifteen years experience teaching library, technology and information literacy skills to teachers and students in grades PreK-12. Before joining CPS, she worked for 14 years as a librarian and instructional technology coach. She is proud to have worked with every grade PreK-12! Kara is a certified Educational Technology Leader through COSN, a Google Certified Trainer, and is a Director at Large on the board of the Illinois Library Association.
